woman, artist, thinker, knitter, friend, lover, mother (not of children-just other people+cats), student, worker, chef, dancer, gardener, optimist, c.o.d.a. (child of a deaf adult), sister, daughter, and many more. and believe it or not, i HATE labels.

I've heard a few pundits make this point, and I think the ad really works, even with the poor ADR (but that's just my inner perfectionist editor nitpicking a bit). Several times I've tried to argue with people about the gay-marriage issue, and they simply refuse to budge. To me it seems so simple that what two consenting adults do in their own time is none of my damn business. It's probably no coincidence that I'm usually having the argument about the non-existence of a supreme being with these same people.
